The Ka Muso Kai Calgary dojo practices Iaido, Niten, Jodo and Kage Ryu. We welcome all practitioners of these arts.
Summer 2017 Grading Results
Congratulations to our club members for successfully challenging their ranks at the Iaido and Jodo gradings in August: Keith Simpson (Jodo Nidan), Rhona-Mae Arca (iaido Shodan, Jodo Shodan), Elena Kay (Iaido Ikkyu, Jodo Shodan), James Jerrard (Jodo Ikkyu), Allan Yee (Jodo Ikkyu). We would also like to congratulate the members from our sister clubs who also successfully challenged their rank: Ken Miyoka of Ka Muso Kai Saskatoon (Iaido Ikkyu), Dan Gyoba (Iaido Nidan) and Lawrence Lau (Iaido Ikkyu) of the Kita Kaze Budo Association, and Josh MacDonald (Jodo Ikkyu) of Rakushin Calgary.
We host practice sessions in the lower level of St. Matthew's United Church, twice a week, year-round.
Wednesdays: 6:00 - 9:30 PM
Sundays*: 6:00 - 9:30 PM
5:30 - 6:00 PM: Dojo Preparation
6:00 - 8:00 PM: Iaido
8:00 - 9:30 PM: Jodo, Hyoho Niten Ichi Ryu, or Kage Ryu (see Calendar for rotation schedule).
The last half hour is optional.
*Training will be moved to 3:00 - 6:30 PM on the last Sunday of the month (on most occasions). There are some exceptions, so check our Calendar for updates.
To cover our rental space, we ask that our members provide a small fee for training.
